Girls JO & XCEL Team Coach

McKayla's story

Like coach Natalie, McKayla grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She began doing gymnastics at age 6. She fell in love with the sport and competed all the way through JO level 10. A career-ending knee injury while vaulting forced her to retire from competing. The injury took six surgeries and lots of time to repair.

Gymnastics is the greatest sport in the world, and it teaches so many valuable lessons that help you throughout life.
— McKayla

Feeling lost without gymnastics in her life, one of McKayla's favorite coaches reached out and suggested that she try coaching and she has been doing it ever since. McKayla joined our coaching staff in 2015 as a recreational gymnastics coach. Due to her skill as a coach and her knowledge of the world of gymnastics, she quickly moved to the competitive side and began coaching compulsory and beginning optional levels in 2016. She now coaches all team levels.
